Mommie Dearest

Will...just so you know that Mumsie is thinking about you over there in Romania....I found this Hoops and Yoyo.....pre-date breath tester! I even downloaded the instructions to build it for you. Genealogy...I am DOING it...my Genealogy....

This is a copy of a larger picture that hung on the wall over the bed in the upstairs bedroom of my grandparents' farmhouse in Bradford, Illinois. My grandmother was Edna Viola Peterson...her father was Martin Peterson. He is in the middle of the back row. I am searching for the names of his brothers. Martin was born in 1874 in Denmark. They emigrated in 1875. I am having some interesting things happen as I look for them. Sometimes I am up until midnight or 1am. It is hard to put it down. I sure am enjoying having Ancestry.com in my own home. I may get some new info this week-end as my brother in Illinois is going to meet with my Aunt.

So my children...you now have a picture of your Great-great grandfather, Martin Christopher Peterson. His daughter was Edna Viola (Peterson) Tumbleson, her daugher was Angela Elizabeth (Tumbleson) Wilson...and her daughter was Gretchen Angela (Wilson) Poulsen. Now aren't you glad I got back to my Danish roots?!! I DO love blue and white.....

Disneyland

My brother Morgan just sent these pictures to me from last October when we met up at Perry's place in Anaheim. Morgan and I went to Downtown Disney and met Dan and family for lunch. This is outside the restaurant. Fun day..those were the best "face-painting" I have ever seen. I LOVED the glitter on the dragon and the snake. The boys had fun.
Morg and me....my brothers are the BEST! We love to shop together and eat and swap dumb Norwegian jokes, enjoy the same stuff...go figure....

Computer Cartoons

Boy.....does this remind me of the days when Will was at home....Will we sure do miss you....but I think we see just as much of you now!!!!
I know Will can relate to THIS ONE! When he was in college...he would screen the calls from the ward members who "used" him to fix their computers. One guy actually would come over and POUND on our door if we didn't answer the phone. He has moved out of state....lucky Will. We try hard not to overburden our computer whiz....

Reading Material

Was just reading the Wall Street Journal and found this exhibition is at the Morgan Library in New York. Apparently, this is supposed to be the most beautifully illustrated of the illuminated manuscripts of the 15th century. Also bought a companion book with the "definitive" explanations of illuminated manuscripts. I figured it's all a whole lot cheaper than flying to New York to see this stuff. I am also looking for something interesting to present at our FHE group once a month. Wish me luck! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE ...the pictures of the jaws of Hell gaping open. Should produce some serious repenting this month. There are supposed to be some of the most beautiful illustrations of Bible stories in this as well. I will be expecting a lot because I think Carl Bloch does the best art of any that I have seen so far....

Just getting ready for Valentines Day

I played today...made my first Valentine house of the season. Gave it to a friend. She cried when she opened the door.....said she had a horrible week. Family problems....everybody just needs a little love...don't they?
We were just practicing the other day...trying out the heart-shaped cookie cutters on some cheese and cracker. Found a second vintage glass with cranberry edge. The pattern is called King's Crown. Hope I can find some more....another grand daughter is on the way!
