Cabin Update...

Well....I haven't got the bird headboard...but we DID get some new leather furniture for the great room. I love the baseball stitching. The sectional went upstairs in the game room. That was a sight....Sherman lifting with a bad back, Mark with a smashed toe and me with my injured left foot. It got a little hairy there for a while...lifting the huge sofa up and over the staircase. I was a great supervisor on that part. Now to put my Russian sled up on the wall. Been saving it for years. Woo hoo!

What do Homemakers Do?

Well.....they shop ALL the best sales! This shop is in Cardiff. We finally downloaded some more of our mission pictures. When we lived in Scotland the kids learned the phrase, "cheeky monkey." When I saw this store front I HAD to take a picture. Cheeky monkey is another way of saying "naughty child."They go to TEA PARTIES (Taxed Enough Already) and get labeled..."racist."
They expertly strategize on board games....YUP...that's me in the YELLOW ....taking over! I have never won in Blockus until now...had to memorialize this game against the Williamsons.
They take their friends up to the cabin.....and beat them at board games.....heh, heh!
Oh yeah...and this is what Homemakers are really known for....canning chicken, baking bread and making a big ole pot of beans (using leftover ham hock from Easter, of course!)

Go ahead...I know you will.....and I know you, WILL, I dare you......MOCK ME!

More Easter Fun

Sylvie, Chloe and Ryder came over the day after the Cobbies were here. They, too, dyed eggs. Ryder licked the egg and made a face. Vinegar is not for everyone! We had a great Easter and we celebrated Grandpa's birthday too...he is hard to pin down...very busy man. His actual birthday was spent gathering people to go and see the Easter pageant on the Temple lawn.

Easter Prep

We decided to dye eggs on Wednesday night while Sherman and Sonia were at a dinner.
Grandpa got in on the act after he got home from his missionary work. My foot is slowly getting better...after almost two weeks of suffering. Best advice...don't dart around the kitchen cleaning up while you leave the door to the dishwasher down. I had it x-rayed a week AFTER. Nothing broken in the way of bones.

Obsession

Oh Yes! There is my fantasy headboard in yet another picture. I have to continue the fantasy in my mind cause I got trumped by a fishing boat, new leather furniture for the cabin and new washer and dryer for the house.....well at least now there is a washer and dryer at the cabin. Life is good and here's a great quote that sums it up....

"Wealth lies not in the extent of possessions, but in the fewness of wants."

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. Hebrews 13:5

Well, I have blown that advice...but there is always room for repentance...right?

ANOTHER BOY!

Okay...I am terribly LATE getting this news out! Kristin and Bert found out a few days ago that they are indeed, having a BOY! They are so excited and so are we. That will make the perfect little family of two boys and two girls. Congratulations!

Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday to Grandpa. This is Kale giving Grandpa a gift at Christmas. Dad had a long day. His smashed toe (from moving a neighbor's sofa) didn't keep him from getting up at 4 am to haul furniture and appliances to the cabin. He then rounded up people to take to the Easter Pageant and bought pizzas for everyone. He doesn't brake for birthdays. He loves his missionary work. We love him and his wonderful example to his family. What would we do without him? Happy 63rd Mark, Dad and Grandpa.
Here is Mark in the early stages of the cabin construction. Always keeping records, always making the budget fit, always the one to be patient with others when they make errors. He is the epitome of the "Christ-like" spirit and we love him for it.
