Lust or Love?

I walked into D. Bliss in Mesa. Here was the headboard for the cabin's Master bedroom...I just KNEW it! Next to watching the stars at night, I love birds and watching them in flight over the cabin. I searched high and low for the February issue of Country L....... the stores had replaced them all with the March issue before I knew it. Here is the pic from the mag. I was in LOVE.... or was it just merely LUST? I called my brother, Perry, he is a master at finding things for me on the net. I had tried....truly I had...but came up empty-handed. He found the link with this same bed on sale......drum roll please....500 dollars cheaper. I then found the link to someone here in town who sells furniture from her home. She can order it in KING SIZE....woo hoo! Now...can someone just find my income tax refund for me????

Spring Break

Spring Break is here! We headed to the cabin and yes...it is FINALLY finished!
The Great Room.
John calls this his "delicious" rug.It has a really thick pile and is called "California Ooh La La." It is kind of weird how our property is shaped like California and our rug is named after California and the coincidences just keep happening. We are throwing around names for the place. Maybe we should include California as part of the name. I wanted to name it the "Tree House." John and Nate kept rolling on it as if it were a hill covered in green grass. He and Nate stripped their beds and threw the sheets on the sofa while they "rolled."
The second guest room....thanks to Sherman and Sonia.
John and Nate enjoying the tire swing.

March Madness

The daisies come up on their own and bloom in March. The kids got up to Heber with the boat and were told the lakes are frozen...bummer!
March is THE best month in Arizona! I LOVE Springtime. We are watching all the daisies bloom and the Wisteria is coming on strong and now Mark is putting all the "goo gahs" on my ramada for me. Must have candle light after dark.
The Hong Kong orchid tree is all in bloom behind the waterfall and the plum is flowering, Wisteria is on the right. This shot is for you...Morgan.
Funny how the blooms come on first...then the leaves come later.

Friday the 13th!

It has been a very busy day...the Cobbs are headed to the lake in our new fishing boat...Who needs a lake? We can have fun right here in the street.
Why do children love to play on the stairs? Let me count the ways.....
What do you do with giant lawn ornaments?
Put them on the lawn of course!
Or have even MORE fun jumping on the trampoline with them....
These are some sad little drawers that I got at Coomers years ago.....I was waiting for the right moment to be inspired to paint or stain them...
Then I was looking around at Anthropologie and noticed the sale table. Little glass drawer pulls! I do LOVE green....went straight to Ace hardware and found some golden pecan stain. I think they will look nice at the cabin. Isn't crafting ....FUN?

I love my Solar Oven

Here is my new solar oven. I have been wanting one for several years. Only 155 dollars. It cooks like a slow cooker. We tried salmon fillets last week and they took three hours...so moist and tender. Then the next day did a chuck roast. Six and a half hours later...voila! Tender, moist, yummy roast with vegetables. Can't wait to beat the summer heat and keep the electricity bills down. Just practicing for possible hard times ahead. These ovens were developed for third world countries where there is no fuel to cook and also great for camping. No need to build a fire in the forest. Especially nice for forest fire season. Can't wait to try some bread!
Can you believe this is waterless cooking? I made some gravy from the juices...it was great! The temperature got up to 225 degrees. No need to even use Pam spray on the enamel pans. I feel so PRIMITIVE...should I do a reality show or something? Maybe a Pioneer show....no never mind...I need my creature comforts.
Today I cleaned out my shower drain. Mark got out the screw driver and lifted the drain cover. He then disappeared for me to do the "dirty" work. Now I really feel squeaky clean when I get in my shower.
