Denmark and Wales

We are finally going!!! Love those frequent flyer miles! FREE TRIP! Stopover in London...off to Denmark...then back to London and drive to Cardiff. Here is the castle we visited many times on the mission.
Here is one of the Castles in Denmark. Mark has visited Denmark and I have always wanted to go. I have Danish ancestry too....can't wait to see their castles, etc... And I didn't think we could top our trip to San Francisco....BA HA HA HA HA!
When it's raining outside.....we just play at the game table....INSIDE. This was a toy handed to the kids at the Heber 4th of July parade. Lots more fun than having candy thrown at you...right?
Little Beck is learning to walk. He now has a new nick-name....WOLFIE!
Bro. M. built these beautiful book shelves for our loft. Now to fill them with reading material......Spent the 24th of July in Snowflake at the Pioneer Days Parade, quilt show and barbeque. Fun times.....lots of thunder showers and listening to the bull frogs croaking at night.

Patience and Wisdom

One picture is worth a thousand words.....in my brother's case.....his skunk is coming from the corruption up in Chicago (just north of him) in the form of the Unions who are harassing him in his business. My skunk has been after me for the past twenty years. I am waiting patiently and expect the promises in D&C section One.....will all come to pass. I may never get satisfaction in this life...but at least I have peace of mind.

Up Close and Personal

This is the artwork of Ryder. Lara called in tears. The second time he did it this week. Mom and Dad came to the rescue and got it all out with good old rubbing alcohol and our shampooer. Note...do not leave 2 yr. olds unattended for more than a nano second.
A much better close-up of little Beck! Isn't he handsome.?

Birthdays...and BLOOPERS!

After Beck's party we drove to Paulden (Prescott area) and attended a meeting with the land owners and home owners. The developer brought his lawyer. Turns out the real estate agent lied to the people, the developer lied, the lawyer sat and lied (in person).....what else is new? I feel sorry for the people who have built expensive homes there. We helped pay for this ridiculous weed-covered road. The other people are in the mid-west and wanted the road in so they could start their house. They can't sell the home they are in....now their building permit has expired......what else is new???? Blooper on the road, blooper on the land. It does have a nice view when you get to the top though! I think I'll stay in Heber ......
Happy Birthday to a dear friend....he is devouring some of my tarts. He was a good sport to wear our Birthday King crown....Can you tell he is related to Ezra Taft Benson?
Birthday Beck....he wasn't too sure about that crown business. One year old now and starting to walk. That's his aunt Hannah.
Favorite toys?......BALLS! We got him an indoor basketball hoop. He is a happy little guy. We had fun and Keira made so many cute things for his party. Check out her blog for better pics!

The Petersons

Edna Viola (Peterson) Tumbleson, my grandmother as an infant.
Edna Viola (Peterson) Tumbleson, as a toddler.
Edna Viola (Peterson) Tumbleson, as a young woman.
Martin and Elizabeth Peterson...my great grandparents on my mother's side. The parents of Edna Viola (Peterson) Tumbleson.
Martin Christopher, middle back row.

Great-great-grandmother

Maria O. Peterson

I just came across her funeral card that was printed in 1910. My grandmother had given it to me many years ago. I am finally getting everything into/onto the computer. It is nice to have these tangible things. I find so many errors on new.familysearch website. I also have this photo that my grandmother was unable to identify back in the 1970's. This is my weak attempt at a scrapbook page with the design around her image. I did everything in blue and white. I think my great-grandfather, Martin, looks just like her.

When we were in Wales, on the mission, we saw so many old gravestones as we did service projects to clean up cemeteries. Many of them had such lovely verses on them. This card is hard to see...so I will type the contents with the lovely verse at the bottom.

Mother,
MARIA O. PETERSON
Born February 5, 1838
Died December 5, 1910
Age 72 years 10 months

Gone but not forgotten
We miss thee from our home, dear
mother,
We miss thee from thy place,
A shadow o'er our life is cast,
We miss the sunshine of thy face,
We miss thy kind and willing hand,
Thy fond and earnest care.
Our home is dark without thee-
We miss thee everywhere.
